STOP THE LANDFILL

ANY landfill of Lake MI done to satisfy the desires of the FOTP would ultimately change many Chicago tax payers' proximity and relationship to the lake shore, impact their property taxes negatively, and affect the lake's fragile ecosystem.

Philip Bernstein is one of the primary contributors of content on this web site.  We feel that it is important for you to know at least SOME of his credentials.  Here are some that are noteworthy for these purposes.

Philip Bernstein served as Chief of Planning for US Army Corps of Engineers, Chicago District for 15 years.

In that capacity he was responsible for evaluating all potential projects and determining the economic, environmental and engineering acceptability of each. He was instrumental in the planning, development and approval of some of the nation’s largest civil works projects, including the Chicago Shoreline reconstruction and the Deep Tunnel projects, both of which are currently under construction.

Mr. Bernstein has both undergraduate and graduate degrees in economics from the University of Utah, and had a teaching fellowship at that university for two years.
