STOP THE LANDFILL

ANY landfill of Lake MI done to satisfy the desires of the FOTP would ultimately change many Chicago tax payers' proximity and relationship to the lake shore, impact their property taxes negatively, and affect the lake's fragile ecosystem.

The FOTP has a "plan", whether they'd like to admit to it or not.

Scroll down for their latest plans which don't include a Lake Shore Drive extension.

They won't use the word "plan" for some reason.  Their primary architectural presenter Thom Green of Greene & Proppe Design has plans too.  The interesting irony is that the FOTP's primary presenter's web site showcases designs that distinctly include an extension of Lake Shore Drive.

When the FOTP speaks with the lakefront communities, Eleanor Roemer says that they would prefer to not include a Lake Shore Drive extension.  So Ms. Roemer, how do you propose to come up with the hundreds of millions of dollars needed to do your landfill without "tying" this to another project, such as the extension of Lake Shore Drive?

At a recent Edgewater meeting, Ms Roemer DID state that if that "extension" was the "means to their end", they WOULD accept that option to accomplish their mission.  Ms. Tranter contradicts Ms. Roemer at a later point but also contradicts herself.   As a matter of fact, in the not to distant past, the FOTP has presented physical models of a Lake Shore Drive extension to the Edgewater community.  Ms. Tranter initially denied that too, and then the architects present at that meeting, seeming embarrassed, reminded her about the reality that they in fact had presented these Lake Shore Drive extension models publicly.   Residents also reminded her of this fact.  How did she forget that?  Did she think her statement wouldn't be challenged?

With all that said, please take these most recent visions from the FOTP that don't include a Lake Shore Drive extension with a "grain of salt".
